Well, Catherine asked me today about the nursery. Haven't thought about it too much. I guess that we can start on it now and make it a neutral colors and whatnot. I think that we should wait until we know the sex and then start on it.

Went to the doctor this morning because of some pain I have been having around my gall bladder. They listened for the baby's heartbeat via doppler and got a reading of 160, which is really good I guess. Took forever for them to find it again because he/she is very low and closer to my back. Anyhoo.. all is good. They sent me to get an ultrasound of my gall bladder to make sure I dont have any stones. Those test results should be in later this week.

Back to school today, havent been to my management class in over three weeks. I only have seven weeks left in this semester and it couldnt go fast enough! I am completely stoked it is so nice outside, however and plan on spending some time outdoors before school.

ETA: Doc said that ultrasound showed some sludge, that hopefully can be cleared with antacids. No gall stones yay!!

Catherine

13 weeks- Home again!

Back from vacation! The traveling (plane) was brutal, but the cruise was fantastic. We spent every day in the sunshine, ate all sorts of amazing food and had the opportunity to watch some very cool performances, even one on ice! I felt pretty good most of the time on the boat, which was great. Now I just need a few days to recouperate from the flying.

Matt and Bernie are in the bathroom right now, replacing the toilet. I'm not sure why that is significant, but its one of the first of many repairs on our house. Ahh the joys of owning a home, right?

Next appointment is at 16 weeks.

Bon Voyage!

12 weeks tomorrow. Had my first appointment with the new OB (Allina Fridley) today. I LOVE my doctor. It is very unlikely that I will ever transfer back to the Coon Rapids Health Partners. She was so gentle and kind and didn't rush me at all.

When she listened for baby's heartbeat, she couldnt find it right away. She assured me that since I was barely 12 weeks, that this was normal. She didn't give up though and eventually did find it. I was soooo relieved. That whole thing was definitely more emotional than I would have expected. She says everything looks and sounds great and even though I need to work on putting a couple pounds back on, there isnt anything to worry about.

I am so glad to get this appointment out of the way before we leave the country. I am soo excited for the vacation, but am equally glad I can relax and not worry about whether or not baby is still alive in there.

Sun, Sand and all the gourmet food we want.... here we come!

11 Week Update

11 weeks today! I am still sick and exhausted, but have high hopes that it will be ending soon. My 12 week OB is in six days. I am soooo excited to hear the heartbeat! Our little bean is starting to look more human now, with separated fingers and toes. It still doesnt really have a neck and it's eyes are still kind of on the sides of its head, but we're getting there! In another two weeks it should look like a normal human, just tiny-sized.

One more week till we are as "in the clear" as we are going to get with the possibility of an early loss. C'mon little dude, you can make it!!

Love,
Catherine
