Overall we have a very happy baby. I am working on getting her on a 2.5-3 hr feeding schedule and we have begun a bedtime routine starting with a bathtime at 7 and ending with a dark room, comfy swaddle, pacifier and a track of lullabies set on repeat. We're really getting the hang of this! The nights of rocking her to sleep while she screamed and only being able to put her in the Rock n' Play are over. :-)
In other news.. yes, apparently an outside world does exist! (haha) Matt is doing wonderfully at work, he really enjoys what he does and the people he works with. He is over halfway done with his semester in school and is eagerly looking forward to winter break.
I went to my 6 week post-partum visit today. Which was much sadder than I expected; I had to say goodbye to the nurses I have grown so attached to over the past year. I intend to send them a thank you card with a picture of the baby sometime this week.
I am feeling more and more like my old self every day. Although still feeling pretty squishy around the mid-section, I fit into normal pants again and I feel good enough to get out and walk a few times a week. I have been actively searching for jobs as well and am looking forward to going back to work. I am trying not to think about the whole "being separated from my baby" thing, as it is painful but I know it is inevitable.
Love,
Catherine
